Handmade linocut print.
Dimensions: 29.7 cm by 42cm
Printed on recycled paper using Caligo oil-based relief ink.

Produced as my response to a special commission from the British Council:

This beautiful work of art was produced through a commission from the British Council’s DICE programme. DICE (Developing Inclusive and Creative Economies) is a pilot programme that imagines and activates new forms of cultural and economic agency.

In early 2021, DICE commissioned 12 artists from the six countries in which DICE then ran (Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, South Africa, UK) to reflect on, and visually illustrate a paper by Professor J.P. Singh titled The Cultural Relations of Negotiating Development: Developing Inclusive and Creative Economies at the British Council.

The work of art by Nicole Purdie (Prints by the Bay) which you are acquiring is one of those produced through this collaboration which was intended to bring J.P. Singh's paper to life for readers interested in the role of, and connections between, arts, entrepreneurship, the Sustainable Development Goals, cultural relations and international development.

If you’d like to read the paper, explore works by other commissioned artists, of find out more about DICE or the commission, please visit www.britishcouncil.org/programmes/society/dice/artist-commission

All my artwork is handmade and original with a mix of limited and open edition linocut prints plus digitally printed greeting cards. The prints are designed, made, pressed and pulled in my studio in West Dorset, UK.

Please note: Because of its handmade nature there may be tiny variations to the picture- be this colour, evenness of ink or other small differences.

Larger prints are supplied rolled in a postal tube for protection. Open gently and allow to uncurl with the edges weighted down before framing. Do not hang/display in direct sunlight. If hanging in a moist/damp environment, ensure that the print is properly framed behind sealed glass to prevent moisture damage to the print.

UK Standard shipping is by 2nd class Royal Mail. I aim to dispatch in 5-7 business days. Please be aware strike action at Royal Mail is causing disruption. Please wait at least 21 days before assuming your item has been lost in the post.

For items lost or damaged in the post: if you choose standard shipping, I will supply a credit note to the value of the print, less postage costs. If you choose a tracked delivery option, I will be able to replace the print when it arrives back to me, reimburse the full amount or offer a store credit note. Please send proof of damage- photos of packaging and damage to the print. Without this, I won’t be able to reimburse you.

For further details about processing, shipping time and returns- please see the SHIPPING section of my website.
